Person found dead after fire at northeast Las Vegas Valley mobile home

A person was found dead today after firefighters responded to a fire at a mobile home in the northeast valley, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The fire was reported about 8:30 a.m. in the 3400 block of North Walnut Road, near Cheyenne Avenue and Pecos Road, officials said.

Light smoke was coming from a single-wide mobile home, and upon entering, firefighters discovered the home was filled with smoke from a small kitchen fire, officials said.

Firefighters found a deceased male in the home, officials said. The cause of death has not been determined, officials said.

Four dogs were also found dead in the home, officials said.

Fire investigators were called out to determine the cause and origin of the fire, officials said.

Damage was estimated at $25,000 to $50,000, officials said.

The North Las Vegas Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire & Rescue assisted in putting out the blaze, officials said.
