You’ve heard about it, and now we have a date for the “Thunder From Down Under” TV takeover. “Flip the Strip” premieres on Monday, July 10 at 10 p.m. on HGTV, a new series that highlights some of the stars of the long-running male revue at Excalibur on the Las Vegas Strip as they moonlight in the home renovation world. Entertainers by night and tradesmen by day, Ben Clearly, Dan Paterson, Liam Black and Malik Wills-Martin are working with interior designer Kelly Stone on the show to turn Las Vegas dwellings into fabulous fantasy homes in the six hour-long episodes. Get ready for lots of Aussie accents, lots of skilled carpentry and painting, and plenty of local sights and sounds.

Bruno Mars, who has been headlining a residency of some sort at Park MGM since the place transformed from the Monte Carlo in 2016, just tacked on two more dates in the regal Dolby Live theater for August 25 and 26. Tickets start at $100 and will go on sale Friday, June 16 via Ticketmaster.

Here are this week’s other entertainment event announcements: Reggae pop favorites UB40 will perform with Junior Marvin and the Legendary Wailers and Big Mountain on July 22 at Soak Pool at the Palms; emo rockers Taking Back Sunday join the Fremont Street Experience Downtown Rocks free concert series with a show scheduled for August 19; comedian Nicole Byer visits the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan on August 26; Grammy-winning songstress Kali Uchis brings her tour to MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 29; Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening comes to the Grand Events Center at Green Valley Ranch Resort on September 30; Chris Distefano brings his stellar standup back to Las Vegas with a performance at the Chelsea on September 30; comedian Charlie Berens performs at the Theater at Virgin on October 8; U.K. rockers The Darkness will play Brooklyn Bowl on October 8; iconic rock band The Cult will take the stage at the Pearl Concert Theater for two shows on October 27 and 28; Jay Leno will be back at Encore Theater on November 12; Ryan Bingham with The Texas Gentlemen will return to the Theater at Virgin for a concert on December 7; and country breakout Parker McCollum is set to play the Chelsea on December 14 and 15 during the grand NFR weekend.
