The Benefit of Love will be held on July 9 at 4 p.m. at Veil Pavilion at the Silverton Casino, a special event benefitting and dedicated to Las Vegas singer-songwriter and “America’s Got Talent” Season 5 winner Michael Grimm. The 53-year-old Grimm has been hospitalized while battling a mystery illness since early this month. The lineup of local and national performers pitching in for the benefit has yet to be announced, but considering Grimm has been playing Vegas for years at venues ranging from the Tuscany to the Smith Center to casino showrooms, expect a stellar evening of entertainment. Tickets are $50 with proceeds going to the Grimm family and more info is available at silvertoncasino.com/event/michael-grimm-benefit/.

Awakening” is set to return on June 30. The new production show at Wynn Las Vegas created by Bernie Yuman, Baz Halpin and Michael Curry has been searching for consistency since originally opening on November 7 in the renamed Awakening Theater — formerly home to “Le Rêve” until its COVID-era closure. After a temporary break, the reopening announcement states the show has been “restaged and reimagined” with “new acrobatics, soaring aerialists and choreography” across its multi-level stage. The 80-minute production also has new music and costumes, and maintains its large-scale puppetry and other immersive theatrical elements. Performances will resume at 7 p.m. Friday through Tuesday, with an additional 9:30 p.m. show on Friday, Saturday and Tuesday, dark Wednesday and Thursday. Musical satirist Randy Rainbow has announced a Las Vegas show, promoted by Live Nation, for the Mirage Theatre on January 26, part of his Randy Rainbow For President Tour. It should be an important show for the Emmy and Grammy-nominated comedian, actor, author and singer, but it’s also an interesting announcement for the Strip. It’s the first event in 2024 announced at the Mirage, which will be undergoing its major transformation into the new Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas in the coming months and years. The only other entertainment tidbit we already knew about this change is the fact that Cirque du Soleil’s “The Beatles Love” will continue throughout 2023 at the Mirage. Stay tuned to this space for more updates.

Here are the other significant Vegas entertainment event announcements of the week: radio and TV funnyman Bobby Bones does stand-up September 9 at the Theater at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas; Hawaiian artist John Cruz performs at the Side Lawn at Sunset Station on September 16; singer Brett Young brings his Dance With You Tour to the Sandbar Stage at Red Rock Resort on October 5; Puerto Rican rap star Myke Towers performs at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan on October 14; singer and songwriter Ivan Cornejo will stop at Brooklyn Bowl on November 2; the reunited R&B group Tony Toni Toné will take the stage at the Pearl Concert Theater on November 10; comic geniuses Amy Poehler and Tina Fey bring their Restless Leg Tour to Resorts World Theatre on November 10 and 11; and unique country voice Ian Munsick will play the Chelsea on December 9.

Easily one of our favorite musical shows in Las Vegas, “Soul of Motown” is getting ready to celebrate 500 performances at the Westgate Cabaret later this month on June 30. The talented singers in this group started their Westgate Las Vegas residency back in 2019 and have also entertained during Vegas Golden Knights and Las Vegas Aces games, at Mondays Dark at The Space, and at a multitude of galas and charity events across Southern Nevada. Tickets for the show, performing oat 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 7:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday, start at $40 and can be found at westgatelasvegas.com.
