Resorts World Theatre resident headliner and recent Las Vegas Weekly covergirl Katy Perry took in “Awakening” at Wynn Las Vegas last week, the stunning new production show in the renovated theater formerly home to “Le Reve.” Perry tweeted: “It was next level tech/dancing costumes whole bit. Like a Burning Man meets Avatar meets 5th Element meets the craziest magic tricks.” The show’s producer and director Baz Halpin also worked on Perry’s show “Play,” and the pop singer also congratulated her collaborator on another Vegas job well done.

Comedian Eddie Griffin will wrap up his years-long run at the Sahara this week, with his last show at the Sahara Theatre set for Wednesday, March 1. “I would like to thank Sahara Las Vegas and their management team,” Griffin said in a statement. “I have enjoyed entertaining guests from all over the world these last few years.” Griffin, who continues to tour the country virtually every weekend, has called Las Vegas home for more than a decade and performed at the Rio for seven years before starting up at Sahara in 2018. Don't be surprised to see him pick up a new midweek gig at a different Vegas venue soon.
