Comedian Nikki Glaser performs Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Venetian Theater. Glaser and comedian David Spade headlined a weekend bill at the Venetian, and will return will return for three more weekends throughout the year: June 30 and July 1, Sept. 29 and 30 and Nov. 16 and 17.

Spade is best remembered as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” in the 1990s, but also has had roles in numerous productions on both the big and little screens. Glaser, has her own impressive bona fides, having been a regular on the celebrity roast circuit and being host of the HBO Max reality dating series “FBOY Island.”

This past weekend on the Strip, both brought their own brands of contrasting humor and both brought the house down.

Glaser led off and, true to form, was as raunchy as it gets. Over the top? No doubt. Graphic? Yes. Unapologetic? Totally. Topics ranged from pedophilia to promiscuity (times seven) to even JonBenet Ramsey.

A running gag throughout her set involved her on-and-off relationship with a boyfriend, and one memorable joke involved her asking him to be more sexy, like an imagined Italian stud, Mario. Of course, the boyfriend gets the wrong idea and winds up trying to romance Glaser using a line from the famous video game character, “Hey, it’s a me … Mario!”

Spade continues to deliver his lines in a slow, deliberate, understated fashion.

He made light of headlining a showroom in a casino where all of the best seats go to the top players, who may not even show … or they may show late. Almost as if on cue, a couple made their way into the theater, and up to the front row, causing Spade to remark that he’d “start over for them.”

His jokes ranged from flying a private jet with a crazed pilot with no regard for safety, to the dangers of attending a celebrity-sponsored auction to benefit storm-beleaguered Haitians (“Hand to my heart, I couldn’t find Haiti on a map”), yet bowing to pressure to overbid on at least one big-ticketed item.

The stories — and their punchlines — left the audience looking for more but filled with laughter.

— David Spade and Nikki Glaser return to the Venetian Theater for shows June 30 and July 1, Sept. 29 and 30 and Nov. 16 and 17. For ticket information, go to ticketmaster.com or venetianlasvegas.com.
