Police: Teen arrested in fatal shooting at Las Vegas party

A teen was arrested after he pulled a gun during a fight at a party early Sunday in Las Vegas and fatally shot a person, according to Metro Police.

The suspect, Mauricio Quinteros, 18, was booked at the Clark County Detention Center on a count of open murder, police said.

The shooting was reported about 2:20 a.m. Sunday at a home in the 1600 block of North Betty Lane, near Lake Mead and Nellis boulevards, police said.

Officers found a male in a backyard suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim was attending a party and got into a fight with another person, police said. During the altercation, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim, police said.

The suspect fled the scene and was arrested later in the day, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim, police said.
