Driver dies after crashing into semitruck in Las Vegas

One person was killed after his vehicle collided with a semitruck this afternoon, according to a Metro Police news release.

The crash occurred shortly after 1 p.m. at the intersection of South Lamb Boulevard and East St. Louis Avenue.

A Nissan Versa was traveling north on Lamb while the truck was traveling in the opposite direction. The truck failed to yield the right-of-way as it turned left, and the front of the Nissan struck the right rear of the truck, the release stated.

The Nissan’s driver, a 49-year-old man, was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital personnel.

The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with an investigation.
