A male was fatally shot, and a person was taken into custody this morning after reports of gunfire in downtown Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.
The shooting was reported about 6:40 a.m. in the 400 block of South 10th Street, police said.
Officers found a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police said a person was taken into custody but did not provide any details.
A nearby school was placed on a soft lockdown, police said.
The investigation was ongoing, police said. People were advised to avoid the area.
