A man was killed in a shooting Thursday morning, according to a Metro Police news release.
Responding officers found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the 400 block of South 10th Street about 6:51 a.m. Thursday. Medical personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Major Sanford, 44, was identified by police as the suspect and detained, the release stated.
Sanford allegedly was observed shooting into the victim’s apartment and leaving the scene prior to officers detaining him, police stated.
Sanford was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for multiple felony charges, including open murder with a deadly weapon and owning or possessing a gun while prohibited.
