A pedestrian died after he was hit by an SUV, and the driver was arrested on hit-and-run and DUI-related counts, according to Metro Police.
The incident happened about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday at Flamingo Road and Buffalo Drive, police said.
A 36-year-old Las Vegas man was crossing Flamingo against a walk signal when he walked into the path of the SUV and was struck, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the SUV, a 62-year-old Las Vegas man, initially left the scene but returned later and displayed signs of impairment, police said. Police did not release additional details about the driver’s arrest.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
