A pedestrian died after she was struck by an SUV while crossing a street Sunday just east of the Las Vegas Strip, according to Metro Police.
The incident was reported about 11:25 a.m. on East Tropicana Avenue at Ocean Drive, police said.
The SUV was eastbound on Tropicana and had a green traffic light when it struck the woman, who was crossing the street against a pedestrian signal, police said.
The pedestrian, a 43-year-old woman from Long Beach, Calif., was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with severe injuries, police said.
The Clark County Coroner’s Office notified Metro on Monday that the woman had succumbed to her injuries, police said.
The driver, a 49-year-old Las Vegas man, remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.
The incident remains under investigation, police said.
