Update: The teen's mother said Thursday morning that her son had been found.

A Las Vegas mother is frantically searching for her oldest child, who went missing from the family’s northwest Las Vegas home on Oct. 8, she said.

Jonothan Villanueva, 15, was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black shirt, his mother, Susie Villanueva, said.

The family has filed a missing person report with Metro Police and with Nevada Child Seekers, a local nonprofit that assists with location efforts on behalf of missing and exploited children.

Jonothan is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and about 145 pounds. His mother said he left their residence on Ann Road and U.S. 95 without his cell phone or tablet.

“It’s been 10 days now,” Susie Villanueva said. “We weren’t home. He was by himself.”

The Villanuevas adopted Jonothan and three younger siblings from the foster care system, Susie Villanueva said. She said there were no noticeable red flags about him running away.

“He’s a very quiet kid; very humble and very athletic,” she said. “He never complained.”

Jonothan is a sophomore at Bishop Gorman High School. He loves sports and is a member of the football program, his mother said.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should Contact Metro at 702-828-3111 or Nevada Child Seekers at 702-458-7009.
