Jack Thow’s fifth touchdown pass on Thursday night went to Trey Glasper in triple overtime and Dax Arnold followed with the extra point to give the Green Valley football team a wild 40-39 playoff win over visiting Sierra Vista.
“Jack Thow balled out. He was the player of the game,” coach Clay Mauro said.
Glasper, a two-way standout, had a touchdown on offense and interception on defense for the fifth straight game.
Theo Edquilang, Estaban Martinez and Cris Dalina also scored for Green Valley. The Gators won despite giving up three kickoff returns for a touchdown.
They advance to face Basic next week. In the regular season, Basic won a dramatic game that came down to a missed field goal at the buzzer.
