Police: Las Vegas man, 78, dies after apparent electric bicycle accident

A 78-year-old Las Vegas man died after suffering critical injuries in an apparent electric bicycle accident, according to Metro Police.

The man was found about 4:30 p.m. Monday at South Tenaya Way, north of Oakey Boulevard, and taken to University Medical Center, police said.

The man, whose name was not released pending notification of family members, died shortly before 11 p.m., police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office subsequently contacted Metro for information about the incident, which had not been reported, police said.

Officers responded to the original scene to investigate, police said. The death will not be counted as a traffic fatality until the investigation is concluded and the Coroner’s Office determines the cause and manner of death, police said.
