Ty Hanley had two rushing touchdowns tonight for the Centennial High football team in a 38-28 victory against visiting Somerset Losee.
Zen Coleman and Logan Weimer had receiving touchdowns for Centennial to help the Bulldogs win the league opener.
Centennial has one of the highest enrollments in Las Vegas, and Somerset is a second-year program at a charter school. Yet, Centennial coach DJ Campbell told his players all week it wouldn’t be an easy game.
His was correct.
“We came out very slow. We weren’t expecting them to punch us in the mouth like that,” Campbell said. “But this is Dan Barnson (the Somerset coach). There’s a reason why the guy is in the hall of fame. I knew he would have his kids prepared.”
