After launching his first Vegas show “In Spades” at Resorts World Theatre just about a year ago, illusionist David Blaine is ready to bring something new to the Strip for New Year’s Eve. “David Blaine: Impossible” is set to open at Encore Theater at Wynn Dec. 29-31, with nine more shows planned throughout winter and spring of 2024. Tickets go on sale Friday, starting at $70 via Ticketmaster. “I’ve spent my life building my magic by traveling around the globe discovering some of the world’s most carefully guarded secrets, being inspired by the great magicians who came before me, and building on their legacy to show that even the impossible is possible,” Blaine said in a statement. “Impossible” will play for only a limited time, according to the announcement, “due to the physical and mental effort required of Blaine to present feats so raw and epic night after night.” The 50-year-old entertainer did sustain at least a couple injuries during his Resorts World run, so there’s definitely truth to that statement.

The ”King of Country” George Strait has been selling out T-Mobile Arena since the venue first opened, and this year he’s doing the same at stadiums across the country, setting attendance records with a massive tour alongside Chris Stapleton and Little Big Town. That tour makes a Vegas stop at Allegiant Stadium next year, on Dec. 7, 2024, with tickets going on sale September 22 at georgestrait.com.

Here are even more Vegas entertainment event announcements from the last week: Chris Isaak is back in town, this time at the Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms, on Dec. 8; Grammy-winning vocalist Leann Rimes brings her holiday tour to the Venetian Theatre Dec. 15-16; favorite funnyman Mike Epps returns to the Venetian Theatre for performances Jan. 13-14 and May 3-4; hard rockers Extreme with special guests Living Colour will visit the Theater at Virgin on Feb. 29; Mexican trio Marca MP brings its Brindo Tour to the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan on March 2; and comic and actor Carlos Ballarta will perform at the Pearl on May 3.

Fremont Street club and bar Cheapshot is bringing new burlesque to the city. “The Jiggle Room,” hosted by Raquel Reed (formerly of “Absinthe”), is already building buzz after launching recently on the intimate downtown stage and then hosting the Sin City Burlesque Afterparty last weekend. It’s a monthly show and you can find more info at thejiggleroom.com. And another acclaimed burlesque performer, Elyse Elaine, will host “Womanopoly,” a variety show set for two performances on Sept. 29. Info and tickets are available at cheapshotdtlv.com.
