A Metro Police helicopter made a precautionary landing near West Pebble Road and South Arville Street after the pilot heard a noise and felt a vibration on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024, the agency said.

A Metro Police helicopter landed on a Las Vegas street today after the pilot heard the aircraft make a noise and felt a vibration, authorities said.

The helicopter was on a routine flight over the southwest valley about 10:05 a.m. when the pilot and tactical flight officer heard the noise, police said.

Out of “an abundance of caution,” the pilot landed near West Pebble Road and South Arville Street, police said.

A photo released by Metro shows the helicopter parked on the street.

Nobody was injured, and only the pilot and flight officer were on board, police said.

The helicopter was towed back to its base, where mechanics were set to perform a thorough inspection, officials said.

The road was closed for about three hours, and has since reopened, police said.
