Man dies after shooting on Maryland Parkway on Sunday night in Las Vegas

A man died after being shot Sunday night, according to a Metro Police news release.

Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive man lying near a garbage receptacle and found a person suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the 5000 block of Maryland Parkway shortly before 10 p.m., the release stated. The man was declared dead at the scene.

Police stated that the man had been talking with several people in the area prior to the shooting. They all had fled before officers arrived.

This is an ongoing investigation, and no suspects were identified by police.
