Police: Human remains with gunshot wounds found east of Las Vegas

The remains of a person who was shot in the head were discovered last week in a desolate area east of Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.

The discovery was reported about 9:40 a.m. Friday near Lake Mead Boulevard and Pabco Road, police said.

Officers found a male in advanced state of decomposition, police said. An autopsy revealed he had suffered gunshot wounds to the head, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the person’s name, police said.

The investigation was ongoing, police said.
