A pedestrian was killed in a vehicle collision today, according to a Metro Police news release.
The collision occurred on West Spring Mountain Road east of South Edmond Street at about 4:08 p.m.
As a 2016 Buick Verano was traveling east on Spring Mountain as the 60-year-old pedestrian was attempting to cross Spring Mountain outside of a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian crossed into the vehicle’s path causing him to be struck, the release stated.
The pedestrian was taken to UMC Trauma, where he died of his injuries, the release stated.
The Buick’s driver remained at the scene and impairment was not suspected, police stated.
