A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle this morning, according to a Metro Police news release.
At about 9 a.m., as the 56-year-old man was attempting to cross Blue Diamond Road near Mohawk Street outside of a marked crosswalk, crossing into the path of a 2017 Ford Mustang, causing him to be struck by the vehicle, the release stated.
Responding medical personnel determined the pedestrian was beyond resuscitation and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mustang’s driver called 9-1-1 and remained at the scene. Police determined she showed no signs of impairment, the release stated.
