A man was arrested on a count of murder after he intentionally set a fire at a Logandale home where a woman was found dead, according to Metro Police.

The fire was reported about 1:45 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of Lison Avenue in Logandale, about 60 miles northeast of Las Vegas, police said.

The Moapa Valley Fire Department responded and found an unresponsive woman in the home, police said. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene, police said.

Officers determined the fire was suspicious in nature and detained 31-year-old Clifton Hall at the scene, police said.

Detectives subsequently learned Hall intentionally set the fire, knowing the victim was inside, police said. Police did not indicate the relationship, if any, between Hall and the victim.

Hall was arrested and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on counts of open murder and first-degree arson, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the woman’s name, as well as the cause and manner of death, police said.
