Several apartment buildings caught fire Wednesday afternoon in the second major building fire of the day a couple blocks from the Las Vegas Strip.

The Park 80 apartments at 4480 Sirius Ave. caught fire just before 4:00 p.m. Wednesday. Officials have not released a cause for the fire at this time.

A fire official said at the scene said the initial call started at a two-alarm fire.

The entire building was quickly determined to have been evacuated and there were no rescues, according to a news release from Clark County.

The fire affected the entire roof and all 12 units of the building had significant damage, the release stated.

One patient was treated at the scene by the Red Cross but didn't go to the hospital.

Dozens of firefighters from Clark County Fire Department and Las Vegas Fire and Rescue could be seen helping put out the blaze, with crews entering the buildings at times to help stop the blaze. At least six fire trucks could be seen responding and firing water on to the roofs of the buildings.

Fire investigators remain on scene while crews continue to extinguish hot spots for the next few hours, the release stated.

The fire remains under investigation.
