Driver charged with hit and run after fatal collision with pedestrian in Las Vegas

A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle early Sunday, and the driver has been arrested on hit-and-run charges, according to a Metro Police news release.

The collision occurred at about 12:45 a.m. on East Harmon Avenue, west of Paradise Road.

According to police, the 62-year-old pedestrian was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a Jeep Compass.

The driver of the vehicle then fled the area, police stated.

The pedestrian was taken to Sunrise hospital and Medical Center, where he died.

Police identified the suspect as Rigoberto Osorio, 48, who was subsequently located arrested on hit-and-run charges.
