Las Vegas Police: Person killed in midday shooting at apartment complex

A person was fatally shot Tuesday at an apartment complex in the southwest valley, according to Metro Police.

The shooting was reported about 1 p.m. in the 8900 block of Warm Springs Road, west of Durango Drive, police said.

Officers found a male with apparent gunshot wounds near a garbage enclosure at the complex, police said. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.

One or two armed individuals approached the victim and shot him before fleeing, police said.

The investigation was ongoing, police said. No additional details were provided.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name, police said.
