Man charged in death of woman found lying in road in Las Vegas

A man today was charged in the death of a woman found lying in a roadway last month, according to Metro Police.

Alejandro Cisneros, 36, was identified as the suspect in the case. He was taken into custody and booked into Clark County Detention Center on an open murder charge.

Officers found the unresponsive woman lying in a roadway in the area of East Yuma Avenue and South Frank Street the night of June 28. Medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.

Through their investigation, detectives determined the victim had been in a verbal altercation with a person in an SUV while she was on the hood of the car. The SUV then came to several abrupt stops, causing the woman to fall off and hit her head on the roadway, the release stated. The vehicle then fled the area prior to officers’ arrival.

The victim’s identification and cause and manner of death will be released by the coroner’s office.

This is an ongoing investigation.
