One person dies, four injured in apartment fire near the Las Vegas Strip

One person died and four were injured in an apartment fire Sunday east of the Las Vegas Strip, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

The fire was reported about 7:35 p.m. in the 3900 block of Spencer Street and involved multiple dwelling units, officials said.

Four people were taken to a hospital with burns and other injuries suffered escaping the blaze, officials said.

A total of 16 people were displaced from their homes, officials said.

The cause of the two-alarm fire was under investigation, officials said.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue also responded, officials said.
