Police: Las Vegas woman, 66, critically injured in weekend crash

A motorist was critically injured Sunday when she collided with another vehicle while making a left turn, according to Metro Police.

The crash happened about 7:35 p.m. at Nellis Boulevard and Winterwood Boulevard, police said.

A subcompact SUV was headed south on Nellis when it attempted to make a left turn onto Winterwood, police said. The crash occurred when the SUV crossed into the path of a car headed north on Nellis, police said.

Both vehicles ran off the road and hit a block wall, police said.

The driver of the SUV, a 66-year-old Las Vegas woman, suffered critical injuries, while a passenger, a 22-year-old North Las Vegas woman, suffered minor injuries, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 33-year-old Las Vegas woman, suffered moderate injuries, police said.

All three people were taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for treatment, police said.

Impairment did not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, police said.
