Las Vegas police: Motorcyclist critically injured in parking lot crash

A motorcyclist was critically injured when he crashed Tuesday in the parking lot of an apartment complex, according to Metro Police.

The wreck was reported about 7:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Rancho Drive, police said.

The motorcycle was traveling through the parking lot and failed to negotiate a curve, police said. The rider overturned the bike and slid into a block garbage bin enclosure, police said.

The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old Las Vegas man, was taken to University Medical Center, where he was in critical condition, police said.

Impairment did not appear to be a contributing factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, police said.
