Las Vegas police: Teen arrested on open murder count after father reports shooting

A teen was arrested after his father reported the boy had shot a friend and officers found the victim dead in a vehicle, according to Metro Police.

The father reported the shooting shortly after 4 a.m. Monday, police said.

Officers learned the shooting occurred in the 1600 block of East St. Louis Avenue and found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police road. The victim, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Detectives determined the 17-year-old suspect shot the victim intentionally, police said. He was booked at the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center on a count of open murder, police said.
