The oil derrick of Jerry's Nugget casino towers over the building in this photo. Jerry's Nugget was founded on the site of the Town House Bar in 1964. The owners soon bought the Bonanza Club, a casino on an adjacent property in 1968. The Bonanza was the original home of the oil derrick now at Jerry's Nugget, it was once the tallest sign in Las Vegas.
