From the school

"Parents, students and teachers have the opportunity to meet during special "meet your teacher" open houses in August. Later in the year, parent-teacher conferences are held, in January, to provide another opportunity for parents to express their concerns and needs.

"Parents are invited to monthly curriculum-related events such as family literacy and math nights, as well as bilingual "evenings with the specialists" that help parents learn about school programs and how they can help at home. Meanwhile, the school PTA provides additional opportunities for communication with parents and supports participation in all school events.

"Teachers send informal progress reports home on a regular basis that detail academic progress and student behavior. In addition, our school's bilingual newsletter, The Dragons Voice, is sent home six times a year and contains information about upcoming events and parenting tips, and encourages parent involvement.

"The school hosts holiday concerts and spring cultural celebrations to honor the many different cultures at Ullom. We also celebrate student achievements with families through award assemblies, concerts, and the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program graduation."
