The Las Vegas Wranglers, who are currently mired in a seven-game losing streak, are going to try out a new goalie Tuesday night in an attempt to snap that woeful skid. The Wranglers announced Monday that they received goaltender Billy Sauer on loan from the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.
BAKERSFIELD -- The Las Vegas Wranglers fell into an early three-goal hole Saturday night and despite their best efforts to climb out, they now find themselves trapped at the bottom of the ECHL. The Bakersfield Condors rode that three-goal first period to a 3-2 victory over the Wranglers in front of 8,825 fans at the Rabobank Arena. Las Vegas (6-12-1) has now lost seven consecutive games and is tied with Stockton (5-11-3) for the worst win percentage in the league.
BAKERSFIELD -- For the first time in nearly three weeks the Las Vegas Wranglers squared off against a new opponent. But they still suffered the same result. Utah capitalized on a four-goal effort in the second period Saturday to follow up Friday night's shutout with a 5-1 thrashing of Las Vegas in front of 3,424 fans.
Despite having nearly a week off since their last meeting, the Las Vegas Wranglers still need more time to solve the Utah Grizzlies. The Wranglers' affinity for the penalty box and inability to stop the Grizzlies' power play combined for a nasty result Friday night as Utah shutout Las Vegas 4-0 in front of a near sell-out crowd of 9,304 fans at the E-Center.
