The type of person willing to hurl himself down a 1,500-foot long ice track that weaves through downtown Quebec City as nearly 90,000 fans create a deafening roar for a sport that combines skiing and hockey.
A person who can ignore fear and reason in order to conquer jumps, hairpin turns, a 180-foot vertical drop and other racers trying their best to send each other crashing to the ice.
If Gabriel Andre can play hockey as well as he competes in Red Bull Crashed Ice, that reckless, yet skilled downhill skater might just become the newest member of the Las Vegas Wranglers.

Centennial quarterback out to earn some respect from recruiters
Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009
Chris Henderson might be the best quarterback in the valley you've never heard of.
Despite running Centennial's college-ready spread offense and completing 57 percent of his passes for more than 1,000 yards last season, the third-year starter is an oft-overlooked quarterback among college recruiters.
That slight is due largely to those recruiters' inability to see Henderson – literally.

Minimal pay checks one of many obstacles for AF2 competitors
Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009
There won't be any millionaires vying for the ArenaCup Saturday night at the Orleans Arena.

The AF2's ArenaCup 10 is certainly not the NFL's Super Bowl.
Yet while the hits are just as hard and the risk of injury just as high, the 40 AF2 players from Spokane and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton competing for a championship Saturday night will be lucky if they can earn a few extra hundred dollars for capturing that title.
The appeal is something greater than fame and fortune.
