The University Board of Regents is taking Chancellor Jim Rogers to task in writing over his scathing comments about Gov. Jim Gibbons (Nevada-R). 1. As an American Jim Rogers has the right to speak as a person of decency he has an obligation to speak honestly. 36% is a huge chunk to remove from any operation, from an ice cream shop to auto manufacturing. It is utterly ridiculous of the Governor to expect Jim Rogers to just say 'okay'. The Chancellors job is to protect the university. Jim Gibbons can't sell state employees on a 6% pay cut, how about 36%? I do believe the state employees should take the cut. Jim Gibbons thinks reducing mortgage rates to 4% will permit families to have 300 to 500 of disposable monthly income and they will just spend, spend, spend and put America back on track. The Governor does not realize that homeowners are thousands of dollars upside down, un or under employed. Give Jim Rogers an award for accuracy his comments are on point.
