Nevada’s coronavirus death toll climbs to 86

With at least three more deaths reported in Nevada on Thursday, the coronavirus had so far claimed 86 lives, most of them in Clark County, according to state figures. 

As of the last Southern Nevada update on Wednesday, COVID-19 had killed 71 in Clark County and infected at least 2,009 — out of the 2,456 people who have tested positive for the virus statewide. 

In Nevada, lab data was last updated Thursday morning. So far, 26,074 tests have been conducted on 21,771 people in the state. 

The death count of 86 was current as of 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the state’s Department of Health and Human Services COVID-19 website.

The coronavirus has landed 603 people in Clark County hospitals, including those who have died. Out of the 71 killed, 66 were hospitalized; 46 in intensive care units, and 43 were intubated. 

Thirty-nine of the fatal victims had at least one preexisting medical condition, according to the Southern Nevada Health District.
