Southwest Airlines grounds over 40 planes

Southwest Airlines has grounded up to 42 Boeing jets due to potential structural damage, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The company is currently facing investigations into its decision last year to keep flying 46 jets that required safety inspections for fuselage damage. The airline might have to pay a $10.2 million fine for violations.

Three Southwest Airlines employees were put on leave Tuesday in connection with the safety investigation.

Expect possible flight delays as a result of the grounded planes.
