Thunder-Warriors

Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant, right, battles for possession under the basket against Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green during the first half in Game 2 of the NBA basketball Western Conference finals May 18, 2016, in Oakland, Calif.

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have re-started with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Golden State Warriors plus-3 at Oklahoma City Thunder: $770 to win $700

We've seen a lot of things we thought we'd never see in the NBA during the Warriors' run over the last two years. And now today there's another one: Golden State is only drawing a third of the betting action going into an elimination game as an underdog.

That's almost alone enough of a reason to bet on the Warriors, though it's not hard to understand where the majority of bettors are coming from. Neither of the two games in Oklahoma City during this series were even close, as Golden State lost by a combined 52 points. But it's important not to over-emphasize two games.

The Warriors have won in Oklahoma City this season, and we have two seasons' worth of information that indicates those two losses were far out of the ordinary. Oklahoma City deserves to be favored in this game, but 3 is a little high.

That's a 6.5-point swing from the first time these teams played at Chesapeake Energy Arena this season. The Warriors are tempting enough to back as an underdog without any further context, but the strong move towards the Thunder seals the position.

Golden State won't go out easily.
