A man who was shot and killed at his home Tuesday afternoon in the northeastern Las Vegas Valley has been identified as 27-year-old Aaron White of Las Vegas, the Clark County Coroner's Office said today.

No cause or manner of death has been determined, a spokeswoman for the coroner's office said.

Metro Police said this morning that a man was seen driving away from the 4300 block of Sunrise Avenue, near the intersection of Charleston and Lamb boulevards, where the victim was found by his wife.

Officers responded to the residence at about 12:28 p.m. Tuesday after the man's wife called police, saying she had returned home and found her husband dead from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, Officer Barbara Morgan said.

Police and emergency medical crews confirmed that White was dead at the scene.

Metro's homicide detectives launched an investigation in the neighborhood and learned that a man was seen leaving the scene in the victim's 1987 Chevrolet Caprice, described as a two-tone dark blue over baby blue car with 24-inch tires and rims, Morgan said.

The victim's vehicle had temporary paper plates and was last seen leaving southbound on Lamb towards Charleston, Morgan said.

At least one child was home at the time of the shooting, but was not harmed, police said.
