The Clark County Coroner’s Office identified a Las Vegas man who was killed Saturday in a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 15 as Tomi Kawamoto.
The coroner said Kawamoto, 85, died from multiple injuries and ruled the death as accidental.
Kawamoto was driving a black Lexus the wrong way in the southbound travel lanes just before 3:30 p.m. Saturday and collided with a gray Infiniti at mile marker 117, about five miles south of Mesquite, Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Joseph Fackrell said.
Kawamoto was found dead at the scene and the 37-year-old male driver of the Infiniti was flown to University Medical Center with critical injuries, Fackrell said.
The accident is still under investigation.
