Desert Pines High School running back Isaiah Morris, left, warms up with teammates during practice at the school Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015.

Isaiah Morris continued on his blistering season, scoring in a multitude of ways Friday night as Desert Pines downed Chaparral 60-13.

Morris had two rushing touchdowns, a receiving touchdown and a kick-return touchdown.

“He basically carried us tonight statistically,” Desert Pines coach Tico Rodriguez said.

The Jaguars got out to a 24-0 lead before Chaparral scored on a long pass play and off of an interception to climb back into the game. The gap wasn’t short for long, as Desert Pines refocused and went into halftime with a 40-13 lead.

“I was pleased with how we came out,” Rodriguez said. “We didn’t play well against Moapa with all the penalties, but there was no letdown. The kids were really focused.”
