Man, 24, arrested in California after shooting death of Las Vegas teen

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in Northern California in connection with the October shooting death of a 16-year-old at a Las Vegas apartment complex, according to Metro Police.

Jimmy Robinson Jr. was taken into custody Wednesday near Richmond on a warrant for charges of murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon, police said.

The warrant was issued Dec. 23 following the death of Las Vegas teen Tiyvone Taylor Mills, police said.

Metro officers were called about 9:30 p.m. Oct. 26 to the Portofino Villas apartments, at 6300 W. Lake Mead Blvd., near Torrey Pines Drive, where Mills was found dead of a gunshot wound in the back, according to Metro and the Clark County Coroner's Office.

Surveillance video released by Metro shows three people near the apartment complex entrance when one of the people appears to fire a gun.

The suspect and another male fled on foot from the complex, according to police.

Robinson is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility in Martinez, Calif., and is expected to be extradited to Las Vegas, police said.
