A lackadaisical first half turned into a dominant second half for Foothill Friday night in a home game against Durango.
The Falcons went into halftime tied with the Blazers, but pulled away for a 20-7 victory to improve to 3-0 on the season.
“We started slow,” Foothill coach Marty Redmond said, “but then we got going a little bit.”
Specifically, the defense got going. Durango had only 20 yards in the second half before its final drive, when the game was practically over.
On offense, it was the usual suspects producing for the Falcons. Junior quarterback Koy Riggin had three touchdowns — two passing and one rushing. Jordan Blakely and Jordan Wilson were on the receiving ends of the second-half scores, with both of them finding the end zone for the second straight week.
