World War II veteran Davis B. Leonard holds a photo of himself at his home in Henderson Wednesday, May 28, 2014. The photo was taken at the Laon-Athies Air Base in France in 1944, he said. Leonard and Gaetano "Guy" Benza, another local World War II veteran, will receive the French Legion d'Honneur award on Friday. The award is the highest honor France bestows on its citizens and foreign nationals.
