CityCenter will be filled with new slot machines that can be programmed from a central computer, offering customers a lot of services at their fingertips. At the Global Gaming Expo in November, the Las Vegas Sun got a sneak peak at a few of the sever-based machines.

  1. Stay away from these machines! they will rob you blind! Server based machines can be manipulated by the slot manager to change your odds. BAD FOR VEGAS!! This is on outrage. Write your congressman an put a stop to the proliferation of this technology across our state!

  2. Back in 96 when the Stratosphere was nearing completion we were installing the slot and poker machines. One of the techs was showing me on a tag affixed to a machine that the machines are all rated with a win/loss percentage. This way they can be strategically placed around each other where more of the machines that are the losers are around the smaller number of machines that are winners. So when someone wins on a winning machine the people around him on losing machines will play more because of that win. They will also lose more. These are considered games of chance? Oh, yeah, the chance is getting on the machines programed to win.

  3. That means if I am winning too much, some guy watching me in a control room can just dial down the odds so I lose more. Greeeaaaattt.
