LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

We all deserve the right to vote

The nation’s founders, white male property owners, relied on the best thoughts of their time, here and abroad, when they established the right to vote for themselves and people like them. This right to vote focused on the betterment of the country during its formative years.

Over time, the focus was modified, by some whites, to include a covert betterment of white people.

Today, some whites and their non-white sympathizers deem themselves best suited to exercise the right to vote, and think no one else can properly exercise this right in the right, white way — to the betterment of whites.

As a result of this bias against certain minorities, the focus on the betterment of the nation and all its people never gained a strong foothold here, and this unjust bias is causing a problem.

The Founding Fathers’ wealth and entitlement focus was imperfect, but the present-day power brokers’ restrictive and unjust focus is just wrong.

The right to vote requires an impartial focus that promotes the betterment of America and all Americans.
