LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Climate change action is overdue

The polar vortex that recently dipped all the way down to the Texas Gulf Coast is a stark reminder of the costly and deadly consequences of climate change. Millions of Texans were left shivering in the dark during extreme weather that is becoming more common in a climate-altered world.

We in Nevada may think something like this won’t happen here, but the reality is that no one can predict when or where the next climate chaos weather event will happen. Unpredictability is the hallmark of climate change.

With the nation’s attention riveted to this climate-related disaster, members of Congress must hear from constituents that action to rein in climate change is long overdue. Send messages to your representative and senators, citing this catastrophe as one more reason to act on climate. You can find contact information for our members of Congress on their websites.
