While browsing through my morning paper, I saw headline after headline that nearly made me gag on my donut.
Books are being banned in schools, transgender people are being kept out of athletic events, minorities are restricted from voting rosters and women are forced to look elsewhere for legal abortions.
I had to check more than once to make sure I wasn’t reading the Afghanistan Gazette rather than my local newspaper.
And since this is all occurring in red states with Republican governors, I can’t help thinking I missed the most dramatic headline of all, that overnight the GOP had turned into the Taliban.
