Quite the defective memory exhibited by former President Donald Trump. While hosting the Saudi-financed LIV golf tournament recently, the “big lie” leader proclaimed that “nobody’s gotten to the bottom of 9/11.” Of course, Trump previously vilified the Saudis for their complicity.
Meanwhile in the real world, President Joe Biden’s decision to take out Ayman al-Zawahri was flawlessly executed with a precision drone strike, killing the lead planner of multiple attacks against the U.S. worldwide, including 9/11.
Moreover, bipartisan legislative action is alive and well, as evidenced by the passage of bills supporting gun control, infrastructure modernization, veterans’ health care, postal reform, Ukraine aid and domestic semiconductor manufacturing — to name just a few.
Unfortunately, the economic beast remains inflation. It will take some time for that to cool nationally and globally, but it hasn’t harmed our state coffers with regards to gaming revenue — $1 billion a month for 15 consecutive months. Nor has it dented tourism — 4 million visitors in June. Gov. Steve Sisolak should be commended for guiding us through the devastation and aftermath of COVID. He made tough, at times unpopular decisions. He has earned a second term.
Don’t believe the naysayers; we are Nevada and America strong.
