All three of the Nov. 17 letters to the editor gave me food for thought. “Veterans deserve our gratitude” brought back memories of my service. The writer’s husband left the Air Force the same year I entered, 1973, and I was stationed at Nellis supporting his unit, the “Red Horse” squadron —a great unit with a proud tradition.
“GOP really won the midterms” gives me similar concerns. The House of Representatives is probably headed to two years of complete waste and no accomplishments. Thank God for Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto’s win, which keeps Democrats in control of the Senate.
Finally, “Lombardo off
to an ugly start,” about Gov.-elect Joe Lombardo limiting access to his victory speech, is telling. This treatment of the press is a reminder of former President Donald Trump’s behavior in the White House. I did not vote for the arrogant law enforcement officer, nor do I have high expectations for his administration.
